Story Progress

Chapter 1 is complete (17k words!). Chapters 2-5 have a rough outline.

I know the title is strange (who is Glarglop?!) but its meaning will be explained in chapters 4 or 5 so you’ll need to wait a bit ...but I promise it’ll make sense.

In the first few chapters you have complete control over the choices, but as the story progresses your attributes and character affiliations will lock or unlock different plotlines.

Your five core attributes are: Charisma, Fortitude, Ego, Awareness, and Intellect. Your choices in the first three chapters will increase or decrease the attributes, and then from chapter 4 onward only certain dialogue choices will be available (or successful) based on your attribute values. (At least that’s the plan. The attribute system is still a work in progress.)

Character list

Player (unnamed) – You’re Captain Graydin’s first officer. The player’s name, gender, race, etc will never be mentioned in the story. Those traits are for you to decide.

Captain Graydin Pierce – Captain Graydin is a grizzled war veteran, now captaining a warship along the Va’Xarin/Human border. He hates Va’Xarins because they brutally murdered his family on Votaris Prime.

Yuki – Yuki is a sixth gen T4X9Z android. She recently had a empathic implant installed and is learning how to process emotions. She wants desperately to feel like a human.

Wu Fei – Wu Fei’s father owns the merchant fleet but is too sick to oversee it, so Wu Fei is acting captain. Wu Fei has a fatal genetic disorder and is alive only because his body is regulated by dozens of tech implants.

Ambassador Kira Nikova – Ambassador Nikova has served in a variety of military and political roles. She has spent the last year living among the Va’Xarin, learning their customs. Currently she represents the Coalition in the Human/Va’Xarin Peace Talks.

Captain Ando Kar’Vak – Captain Kar’Vak is a Va’Xarin. He is the captain of the Koirvas, a Va’Xarin warship class II. He represents the the House of Kar’Vak at the Peace Talks.

Ambassador Tal’Bak – Ambassador Tal’Bak represents the Va’Xarin Council at the Peace Talks. 

The Coalition – The Coalition is a collection of human colonies which represents 80% of all humans in the frontiers of space.

Va’Xarins – Va’Xarins are a lizard-like, humanoid being whose civilization is much older and more technologically evolved than humanity. The Va’Xarins claim to own the territories containing Coalition settlements. Their aggression has led to war.

Love interests

Yuki (a sixth gen T4X9Z android) is the only love interest in Chapter 1. I’d like to add a more in-depth romance sub-plot. Which characters would you like to romance? Let me know! And how intimate/physical should the romance be?

Next Update

I’m writing Chapter 2 now. I plan to introduce 3-4 new characters and another potential love interest. I’ll add 5-7 more quests (and achievements) related to chapter 2. I’ll try to have Chapter 2 up within a month.
